Beech-Nut baby food recently went through an amazing packaging and product redesign that is pretty transformative. With homemade baby food making a huge comeback thanks to a host of machines like the Baby Brezza and the Baby Bullet, Beech-Nut wanted to create food that was the next best thing to homemade. By combining whole natural ingredients and fresh contemporary packaging, this 122-year-old company was able to completely transform itself into a modern and relevant brand.
I must say, this packaging is A-MAZ-ING; not only is it beautiful, but it's incredibly functional as well. First of all, the shape of the jar is fantastic—it's pretty to look at and less likely to topple over in your cabinet thanks to the wider base. The shape also makes it easier to get those last few bites of food.
Beech-Nut also chose to use clear labels that showcase the beautiful colors of the foods. Since they aren't over-processed, you see bright purples, yellows, and oranges, instead of unappetizing muted browns. The logo is perfect, and the decision to include "just" on every jar was also genius.
Beech-Nut has widened its reach by publishing simple, pinnable recipes that repurpose baby food as a product you wouldn't think to use as an adult. I've tried a few flavors and they are just as delicious as they sound and look. So clever!
And if that wasn't enough, the company also provides great ideas to reuse their beautiful jars. From the product, to the packaging, to incorporating new consumers, to reusing the jars, they really thought this through. So incredibly inspiring.
